You were only nine years old when all of this happened. One moment you were in your room sleeping and the next you were walking through smoke and ash trying to find your parents.
Love, he said, was the reason he started the war. Ironically, you lost everything you loved but you also lost yourself when he let you survive and dragged you away to his home.
In a new Kingdom with no one on your side what choices will you make to survive? Who will you become?
Inside of you there’s something burning for revenge and there’s only one thing I want to tell you. Let it out.
The story starts in the Kingdom of Vesphire, a fictional kingdom within a fantasy universe, but it truly begins in the Kingdom of Rosea.
The two kingdoms are situated in a world that was blessed by the gods, the lands were filled with magic and beasts of wonder. For unknown reasons the gods abandoned the realm taking everything they had brought with them while the beasts moved to forests and the sea. Anywhere that was far from civilization.
You were born and raised in Vesphire until tragedy struck and you were taken away to Rosea. Contrary to the snowy lands of Vesphire, Rosea was tropical in the north and temperate in the south with mountains surrounding the lane.
The Kingdom is a colorful land with green scenery contrasts to its large white buildings. The streets are always busy from early mornings to the late nights, and filled with calls from the shopkeepers from their wooden stalls with sun-faded striped fabric or blue tarps above it. It is truly a lively place.
The ruler of this kingdom is none other than Luceris De Rosea. He is the man who led destruction right onto your home, he is the one whom all of Rosea admire. The land is immensely beautiful but many of its people harbor great hatred towards you due to you being the last royal of Vesphire.

Save Warning: COAAF is a browser-based game and saves to your browser. If your browser clears its cache or history, your saves will be lost. You can make unlimited saves independently of your browser by saving with Save to Disk. These are stored on your device and can be uploaded directly into the game. It is highly recommended that you make a manual save to your device regularly.
The characters in this list are those with whom you can form a deeper relationship, whether it be platonic or romantic. While all characters are available to everyone, only Hunter is gender selectable. It is important to note that these characters are not the only ones of significance.
- Fadiya Akter - The Royal Mage’s daughter, and one of the only people that doesn’t have something against you. She’s cheerful, talkative and kind - like a fairy. Fiercely loyal to you, to the point that she gets into trouble just to defend you even in court. She is a powerful mage just like her mother. She is one year younger than you.
- Helios De Rosea - The Crown Prince of Rosea, and the child of the man that destroyed your home. He has a radiating smile that instantly brightens up the room, like sunshine itself. He is the hero of all fairytales, the boy with a golden spirit full of light and hope. He keeps his distance from you, after all you are the last royal of Vesphire. He is one year older than you.
- Hunter Oakes - Crown Prince’s shield and Sir Lancelot’s ward. Easygoing, resilient and reckless; their serene smile puts everyone at ease. They’re loyal to the hand that feeds them but understand what you went through was an injustice. They are four years older than you.
- Soarine De Norazaan - Eldest daughter of the King of Norazaan, and an envoy to Rosea. Her smile is charming and practiced, she has a vixen-like personality. Soarine wishes to take the throne and better her kingdom, her desire for the throne is underlined by a thirst for revenge against the people in her kingdom who have forgotten their own history. She is one year older than you.
- Vincent Annora - Son of the current General of the Imperial Army and the one who will take her position in the future. The perfect example of what a knight should be. He is very guarded and passionately protective of the people he cares about, he may seem rough around the edges but has a gentler side to him at times. He dislikes you due to his mother’s own hatred towards you and your late family. He is two years older than you.

Does anyone know how to get the ashes to ashes achievement?
If I recall right you have to choose to burn down Farah's room (the late queen) and stick around (so choose to stay in the room) until they drag you out.

My browser (or laptop) refuse to let me play browserbased games lately.
This game sound interesting, but I clearly can't play it.

I absolutely ADORE this game!!! All the RO's are ao bbg, though I like Helios and Vincent the most (romantically. Fadiya will always be my #1 BFF).
Also, I totally think at least Clarence is alive. We didn't see him during the fire, so I want to guess he left the palace instead of trying to find someone. Or maybe he found Allistor just in time to save him, but couldn't get us and decided one sibling was better than none. But like, one of our brothers have to be alive, no way they aren't. I mean, Catalina is most definitely alive, but I've not read anything about MC having good memories with her besides "my sister could never do that!" So, yeah. Also, I assume the necklace is about to really come into play here soon, probably chapter 5 or 6.
Anyway, any idea how many chapters you're gonna do and when the next one will come out? No pressure or anything, just curious lol

I loved the game!! It accommodates emotions that not even I can contain. I will reveal that during the story I really cried thinking that life can really be cruel sometimes, thinking that it happens between families, losses that can mean a lot to them, so much so that I have an older brother, thinking about losing him somewhere moment can destroy my heart, besides the loss also people who are neglected their appearance or where their family came from, what they are like...so thinking about MC was really sad, but the game itself, it's really good, to think about that there really are people who care about us made my heart happier during the story 😆 (I hit on everyone 👄💋)

This is amazing and probably my favorite IF I've consumed on Itch thus far. The characters are all well-written and insanely charismatic (to the point that it'd be fair to say my MC has a crush on every single one of them to differing degrees, save for maybe Fadiya), their art is of course gorgeous, and I adore the complex, angsty, tangled relationship between King Luceris and MC. Burning down his late wife's room was such a petty and pointless act of vengeance but it makes sense for an angry and deeply sad fifteen-year-old to do and he recognized that. It feels a little like Thorfinn and Askeladd's relationship from Vinland Saga (which is very high praise if you've seen that).
Vincent in The Chair was also just as memorable as the rest of the comment section implies. Its even worse because one of my MC's unhealthy coping mechanisms is
excessive sexual activityso yeah... sorry Vincent...So yeah. Delightful, complex characters, cool setting, great monologue and descriptive writing, amazing overall. Can't wait to see more!

Is it wrong that I want to treat Helios as my son? I love the dude, but not in a romantic way. I think it's because of what his father has done to our kingdom and family. What do you mean, killed my whole family just because one of my family members killed your wife?! Plus, you let my citizens turn into mass killers?!

That definitely puts us in an awkward relationship with Helios. It's not his fault what his father did to us, but I don't think I will be able to love him fully because of our family's past troubles.
P.S. Is there in any way that I can take back my kingdom or gain power. Even though I don't feel revengeful against the king. (Which I don't)

I am still in the beggining and I shocked that there is no options for what I would do with Lancelot's kindness... I am just tilting here not understand anything... not angry nor relieved just plainly surprised... Why are they nice with me? maybe eventually I will understand...

I'm going for the revenge route, don't care if the ROs get hurt tbh. That's a price my MC is willing to pay, she's gonna be the villain blinded by rage and grief AND will take it out on everyone 🙏 Looking forward to updates!

A Nice game, the story is cool with some nice implementations of customization, that isn't thrown at you at the very start of the game, but only when it's relevant at the moment. I like all the character's that are involved in the story, for some reason I feel a certain attraction to Eadith, so I'll continue to pursue that in the later updates. The skill stats, like Blades and Strength, or Arcana and Knowledge currently just feel useless. You don't get to do anything with such stats and hardly get to train them, those stats only passively raised by 3 once, and even then, there was no point to it. It would've been better if your knowledge stat made you appear to be smarter, or some options that sound intelligent were only available with a knowledge requirement. Or maybe with Strength it could be related to durability or physical strength, like when Vincent pushed Fadiya after she broke his nose, with enough strength we could have caught her. Just some suggestions, food for thought if anything more.
Got me torn with Helios and Vincent, I'm so curious about both of them. I hope to see more, this story is so good 💗

I don’t mind Lancelot being in love with Luceris (actually no, scrap that, I do) but what truly maddens me is his audacity to still want a connection with the mc! Like come on now, you can’t play both sides in this situation. If you love Luceris go for it, good for you, but then leave mc alone and don’t try to act concerned for their wellbeing, otherwise you are only contributing to their misery. At this point let the gods take mc away from this world too bc I swear…
It was very hard decision to cut Lancelot entirely off of mc’s life (bc I do see how he cares for them and I do empathise with him, even if only slightly) and I felt bad making him choose between Luceris and mc, but I deeply believe it was the right choice for my mc. I can now confidently say that mc has a backbone that Lancelot lacks lol
PD: amazing story so far! It made me feel, which is a great sign! I was inmersed entirely and the characters are very compelling, each in their own way. Love or hate them, they are all interesting. Can’t wait to see how the plot develops further!
Theory: Alistair, Catalina and the other brother (forgot his name) are not dead and they are a part of a secret rebellion against Luceris or maybe they were kidnapped by the Royal kidnapper group (I'm terrible at remembering some stuff 😭)

So far I’ve only managed to unlock one romance option with him. If you don’t burn his mother’s room you get a cute romance scene with him there. I’m not sure which choice unlocked it tho. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful

Interesting but bit frustrating that a character primarily trained in physical side of things Combat etc) keeps acting and getting treated like they are completely helpless. Makes me think of the stupid damsel in distress bullcrap that always irked me. Or whatever the male equivalent is since I prefer playing male characters. Am I doing something wrong in my choices or is this just how it is reguardless?

Nah fr like playing through they act like I have no training at all but my main classes I took had a focus on fighting? Like I get that we are royalty or whatever but I ain't a baby. I would say it's because they view you as kinda pathetic since you are royalty (just stereotyping ig like those rich kids who can't do anything themselves) but they don't treat Helios like that?
